SOUPLETHANE 5 N

Radiation-resistant decontaminable resin for nuclear installations

A high performance polyurea-urethane resin for sealing and protection in nuclear environments
La résine Souplethane 5 N is a two-component solvent-free resin, specially developed to meet the needs for sealing, anti-corrosion protection and coating of installations in nuclear environments. Designed to withstand extreme conditions, this resin creates a decontaminable liquid membrane capable of resisting nuclear radiation up to 10 MGray. It can be applied manually by brush or roller, as well as by spraying using an airless machine, thus offering flexibility of use according to the needs of the site.

Areas of application
Souplethane 5 N resin is suitable for various substrates (concrete, metal, etc.) and is suitable for the following applications in nuclear installations :
- Sealing of radioactive effluent storage basins : provides durable and resistant protection against infiltration.
- Wastewater treatment plants and chemical retentions : ideal for areas requiring resistance to chemical agents.
- Walls, ceilings, and radioactive containers protects surfaces exposed to radiation and contamination.
- Silos, hoppers, tanks : a reliable solution for structures requiring reinforced waterproofing and anti-corrosion protection.
- Remediation of radioactive premises : allows for easy cleaning and rapid decontamination to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Benefits of Souplethane 5 N
- Decontaminable (CEA class 1 - 4) : facilitates cleaning and sanitation in radioactive environments.
- Resistance to nuclear radiation : protects surfaces up to 10 MGray, an essential performance in nuclear environments.
- High adhesion : 4 MPa on concrete substrate, guaranteeing reliable durability and protection.
- Cracking tolerance : bridging cracks up to 5 mm for increased resistance on damaged surfaces.
- Thermal and hydrolysis resistance : resists thermal shock up to 90°C, an essential quality for applications in harsh environments.
- Solvent-free, Bisphenol A-free and odor-free : a formulation that is safe for health and respectful of the environment.
- Compressive resistance : >110 MPa, ensuring solidity against mechanical loads and structural stresses.
- Ease of application : direct application by roller, brush or spray, allowing rapid implementation without chalking.

Souplethane 5 N resin is the ideal solution for sealing and protection applications in sensitive nuclear and industrial environments, where radiation resistance, decontaminability and durability are essential. It offers a high-performance, easy-to-implement solution for a wide range of applications, guaranteeing reliable, long-lasting protection.
